A statement released by the Black-and-Whites read as follows:
"A three-year contract (through the end of the 2028–29 season) has been signed with professional soccer player Alexander Nübel, following an agreement reached with Bayern Munich regarding his permanent transfer. We wish Alexander Nübel, whom we believe will make significant contributions to our club, every success in our prestigious jersey, and respectfully bring this to the public’s attention."
Nübel, who came up through the Paderborn youth system, transferred to Bayern Munich following a five-season stint at Schalke. The German goalkeeper, who has been waiting for his chance behind Neuer, was loaned out to Monaco for two seasons and then to Stuttgart for three seasons. Nübel, who spent last season on loan at Stuttgart as well, appeared in 49 matches and recorded 2 assists.
