A foul in the Netherlands that’s practically attempted murder! Bruising on his lung

Ajax player Aaron Bouwman, who was on the receiving end of a hard foul by Ruben van Bommel during a match against PSV in the Dutch First Division (Eredivisie), is out for the remainder of September.

In a statement released by Ajax, it was noted that the 19-year-old center back will be unable to play throughout September and will remain under observation at the hospital today.

The statement read, “Examinations revealed that Bouwman suffered various injuries, including bruising to his sternum and lung.”

During yesterday’s Week 5 match, in which PSV defeated Ajax 3-1 on the road, Bouwman jumped for an aerial ball. Van Bommel, who was late to the ball, came in quickly and collided very hard with Bouwman’s head and upper body.
